Last Wednesday we organized the first Paris Video Tech meetup at Dailymotion. We were thrilled to have a full house for this first event and to get such positive feedback from members of the video tech community in Paris. The group now counts over 150 members, and more than 9,000 people have watched the recorded version of the meetup in the last few days!
The goal of the Paris Video Tech meetup group is to share knowledge on all aspects of the video value chain (encoding, distribution, analytics, etc.). For this first edition, we mainly focused on the player with 3 different talks.
If you missed this first event, you can watch it on our Dailymotion below (in French). Join the meetup group to follow all the latest news of Paris Video Tech and check below the video for the different slide decks used.
Benjamin Pott, Video Engineer at Afrostream gave some feedback on his experience experimenting with different players.
Erica Beavers and Nikolay Rodionov from Streamroot gave a talk on adaptive bitrate algorithms and how to optimize them in an HTML5 player.
Guillaume du Pontavice and Tommy Nacass explained how they improved user experience at Dailymotion with analytics and by tweaking their algorithms.
